The OECD Career Readiness project helps governments, schools and employers better prepare young people for their working lives by identifying career development strategies that improve employment outcomes. Using international data, it offers guidance to tackle social inequalities, promotes in-demand careers and boosts student motivation, while working with jurisdictions to review and improve career guidance systems.

Career Readiness

As young people spend more time in education, they must navigate their pathways based on their interests and goals—but many remain uncertain about their job plans. With choices often shaped by gender and background and misaligned with labour market demand, effective and equitable career guidance is essential to help all students make informed decisions and transition successfully into work.
