Workplace Learning (WPL)

Workplace learning (WPL) supports students to understand the evolving work environment through spending time with an employer in a real workplace.

WPL includes work experience for students who are at least 14, and work placement for students studying Vocational Education and Training (VET) subjects.

Insurance

From 31st March 2025, each school/diocese will maintain public liability insurance to cover:

  • injury to students,
  • loss or damage occasioned by students, and
  • indemnity cover for host employers (subject to individual school's policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions).

Host employers must also have current public liability insurance.
