1. HSC written Exam Timetable

The 2025 HSC written exam timetable is available on the NESA website from 10am on Friday, 2 May. 

From 9am Friday, 2 May

HSC students can access their personalised exam timetable on Students Online

Schools can access the HSC written exam schedule on Schools Online

The HSC practical and performance exam timetable and Languages oral exam timetable are available now.

2025 HSC Key Dates are available here

2. HSC Science Extension Exam 

The sample exam is now open for HSC Science Extension students to start preparing for their online exam.

Schools must nominate their students by going to Schools Online and navigating to > Online Tests > HSC Science Extension.

The Online Exam Handbook and Key Dates are also available in Schools Online > Memos and documents.

NESA – Official Notice

1. Stage 6 Languages – Information about Korean and Indonesian Korean Continuers Stage 6 will not be discontinued in 2026. 

There is a risk of discontinuation for Korean and Literature Stage 6 in 2028 and Indonesian Extension Stage 6 in 2027. 

2. Minor update to Construction Curriculum Framework Stage 6 Syllabus 

The Construction Curriculum Framework Stage 6 Syllabus has been updated following the release of version 9.1 of the CPC Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. 

No impact on HSC courses and their requirements. No changes to examinable HSC Content.

2025 CSSA Trial HSC Examinations - FINAL Timetable dates released (Ref: 100/25) 

The 2025 CSSA Trial HSC Examinations FINAL Timetable was released to schools on Monday, 28 April (Week 1, Term 2). 

CSSA communications were sent to the registered email address of the Main CSSA Contact as noted in the individual School Account in the CSSA webpage of the CSNSW website. 

The FINAL Timetable will be publicly available on the CSSA webpage in Week 2, Term 2.

The 2025 CSSA Trial HSC Examinations FINAL Timetable is scheduled for:

  • Monday 4 August to Monday 18 August

The 2025 CSSA Trial HSC Examinations Security Period is:

  • up to, and inclusive of, Wednesday 20 August
  • Examinations, including examination-related materials and student scripts, can be returned to students from 8.00am, Thursday, 21 August

CSSA webpage and individual School Accounts

  • School data in individual School Accounts with the CSSA must be kept up to date by individual schools in the CSSA webpage of the CSNSW website | Account Settings.
  • Relevant personnel in CSSA registered schools should ensure that the school data available and fields of information on the CSSA webpage are checked, updated and completed as necessary. This will ensure that your school’s address, phone number, email address and contact details are correct – this information is critical for communication with schools and the secure delivery of CSSA Trial HSC Examinations. Finally, remember to click on the “SAVE” button at the end of the process.

Event Programme Available Now – 2025 CSNSW Behaviour Symposium (Ref: 94/25) 

Catholic Schools NSW is delighted to offer you an opportunity to engage in a premium professional learning event that focuses on behaviour and respectful relationships. The 2025 Behaviour Symposium will be held on Thursday, 22 May, and Friday, 23 May 2025, and will feature Tom Bennett OBE, a leading expert in behaviour management.

Day 1 (Thursday, 22 May) of the event focuses on early career teachers, as well as experienced educators looking to improve their professional practice. Assistant Principals will also benefit from the day as Tom Bennett will be facilitating a Masterclass on behaviour management. Finally, other System Leaders responsible for consent and respectful relationships education and student wellbeing will also benefit from Day 1 keynotes and workshops.

Day 2 (Friday 23 May) has a focus best suited to System Leaders, such as Diocesan Executive Directors, School Principals, other School Leadership Team members, Leaders of Mission and Evangelisation, Heads of Wellbeing, Child Protection, Safeguarding and School Safety. Those leading consent and respectful relationships education will also benefit from the presentations.

Other speakers at the symposium include Andrew Fuller (Clinical Psychologist), Melodie Wyttenbach (Roche Centre, Boston College), Dr Matthew Tan, Karen Doyle, Alex Kohn and Dr Jacqualine Amos.

St Joseph's College Institute will be hosting Dr Mark Williams, Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience, on Tuesday, 13 May at 6:00pm.

With over 25 years of experience, Dr Mark Williams has conducted behavioural and brain imaging research focusing on our social skills and how we learn. He has received numerous awards for his research and teaching in neuroscience, and he runs programs that focus on the neuroscience of learning, emotions, communication, and habits.

Over the last 25 years, understanding of the human brain has changed dramatically, with constant discoveries on brain development and how we think.

Dr Mark Williams will give a presentation on the latest findings and concepts in the neuroscience of thinking, discussing strategies to enhance learning, memory, and understanding.

New Council of Catholic School Parents Website is now Live (Ref: 92/25) 

The Council of Catholic School Parents NSW/ACT is proud and delighted to provide you with the link to their new website.

CCSP is committed to being recognised as a strong voice that advocates for families in our Catholic schools. As part of their current strategic plan, one of their aims was to 'create a new multilingual and easily accessible website, so all parents and carers are aware of the work of CCSP and can contact us through the website'. 

With the help of the Schoolzine team, CCSP has created a website that can be translated into over 140 languages and offers easily accessible ways for parents and carers to stay in touch with the team. The site features interactive maps that link to information about CCSP members, dioceses, and numerous resources and links for families and schools.

NSW Veterans Strategy and Action Plan 2025-2030 with student resources (Ref: 93/25)

The NSW Government has launched the NSW Veterans Strategy 2025–2030, which sets out a whole-of-government approach to support the wellbeing of veterans and their families and acknowledge their vital contribution to NSW.

Its suite of programs and initiatives aims to ease transition into civilian life and honour service for veterans and their families, including providing educational resources and programs to students across NSW.

Cultivate lifelong learning for students with Free Smart Farming Virtual Sessions (Ref: 91/25)

Smart Farming Virtual Classrooms are offering free interactive sessions designed for Years F-6. Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Australian Agriculture and learn about topics such as who works on a farm, how animals grow and change, and real-world applications driving farming innovation and sustainability.

Smart Farming Virtual Classrooms feature 30-minute, curriculum-aligned interactive sessions designed to bring farming to life and spark curiosity through engaging discussions, quizzes, and live Q&A sessions with real farmers.

Separate sessions are available for Lower and Upper Primary students.

Students who are F-Yr 2 can learn about "Life on the farm", which will allow them to meet the people and animals on a farm, and sustainable farming practices.

Yr 3 - 6 students can learn about "Future farming", covering topics on how farmers care for animals, new cutting-edge technology, and sustainable farming practices.
