Professional Learning Resource: Supporting the Attendance of Aboriginal and Torres Stright Islander Students in Catholic Schools (Ref: 144/26)

Improving attendance is about more than getting students through the school gate; it is about creating learning environments where students feel respected, connected and supported to succeed.

Developed from a webinar delivered in May 2026, this professional learning resource invites participants to reflect on attendance through a broader lens, exploring the impact of cultural safety, trust, identity and relationships on student participation.

Through expert insights and practical examples, participants will examine common barriers to attendance and consider how schools can build stronger partnerships with families, communities and local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The webinar highlights approaches that move beyond compliance and intervention, focusing instead on connection, collaboration and student voice.

Ideal for Principals, Assistant Principals, Pastoral Care Leaders and Attendance Officers, this learning supports schools to develop sustainable, whole-school practices that foster engagement, strengthen relationships and create the conditions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to flourish.

Webinar: Supporting Schools, Students and Families with the New Anti-Bullying Framework (143/26)

Creating safe, respectful and inclusive school communities requires more than responding to incidents of bullying, it requires a proactive, whole-school approach that promotes belonging, wellbeing and positive relationships.

Join Dr Michael Carr-Gregg for an engaging webinar designed specifically for NSW Catholic schools.  This webinar will unpack the new Anti-bullying Framework and explore what schools need to consider when developing environments where every student feels safe, respected and connected.  Participants will gain practical, evidence-informed strategies for preventing and responding to bullying, strengthening student wellbeing, and fostering cultures of inclusion and belonging.

The session will also highlight the vital role of parents and carers in supporting positive student outcomes. Council of Catholic School Parents 2026 Conferences for Parents (Ref: 136/26)

Supporting Families: Working Together in a Modern World

CCSP is hosting not one but two conferences for parents! The first is in collaboration with Sydney Catholic Schools and will be held at Rydges World Square Hotel on 22 August. The second conference will be at Twin Towns Service Club in Tweed Heads on 24 October, supported by Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools.
