Our offerings—including conferences, symposiums, workshops, and flexible online, on-demand learning—are intended to strengthen Catholic identity and faith formation, build leadership capability, and enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the system. 

We look forward to engaging with you both online and in person throughout the year. Due to high demand, our events often reach capacity quickly, so we encourage early registration to secure your spot.

NESA Identity (NESA ID) **IMPORTANT**
On Monday 9 March NESA Identity (NESA ID) will be introduced as a new, secure way for teachers to sign in to eTAMS and NESA Learning.

From 9 March, teachers will be required to sign in using their email address instead of their 6 digit NESA account number.

eTAMS will be unavailable between 5pm Thursday 5 March and 8am Monday 9 March to prepare for NESA ID. 

What do you need to do?

  • If you have already updated your NESA ID email address to a personal email address, your eTAMS profile has been automatically migrated to NESA ID.
  • Sign in to eTAMS to set up a password. The next time you sign in, you must set up 2-step verification to keep your account secure.
  • If you have not updated your NESA ID email address to a personal email address, you will need to:
    • Attempt to sign in to eTAMS.
    • Locate your eTAMS account using your name, date of birth, and either the email address listed in your eTAMS account or your mobile number.
    • Confirm the best email address and mobile number for your NESA ID.
  • The next time you sign in to eTAMS, you must set up 2-step verification to keep your account secure.

NAPLAN student data now available

Schools can now access student data in the online national assessment platform.

Final tasks to prepare for NAPLAN include:

  • checking student data
  • adding school-approved disability adjustment codes
  • printing student session slips and preparing test administration packs.

New resources to support planning for K–12 students with disability

New resources are now available to help teachers when planning to support K–12 students with disability, including: 

Writing in the new NSW Curriculum

New mandatory K–10 syllabuses provide a strengthened focus on teaching students how to create written texts, with explicit reference to writing across all subjects. 

Writing supports learning: it is a way for students to organise thoughts, explain thinking and build understanding.

A range of resources are available to support teachers with teaching new syllabus content, including:

New K–10 curriculum support materials

New resources are now available to support teachers delivering the following reformed syllabuses:

  • Years K–6: English, Mathematics, Creative Arts, Human Society and its Environment, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, Science and Technology
  • Years 7–10: Communication Technology, Engineering Technology, Geography Elective, History Elective, Industrial Technology, Physical Activity and Sports Science, Visual and Motion Design.

Resources include parent and carer guides, sample units, outcomes worksheets, teaching advice, teacher guides, Aboriginal Education support, glossaries, and teaching and learning support.

Nominate 2026 HSC Presiding Officers

Nominations are now open for 2026 HSC Presiding Officers via Schools Online:

  1. Access the role description and nominee resources at Downloads > Memos and Documents > Presiding Officers (PO).
  2. Go to Data Collection > Work with presiding officer nominations to submit your nomination.

Nominations close on Thursday 2 April.

School Registration Insights resources

The Regulation of Schooling Directorate has launched the first edition of School Registration Insights – a new resource supporting NSW schools to understand registration and compliance requirements. 

New editions will be published on our website each term.

WriteOn Competition

The 2026 WriteOn competition opens Monday 23 March.

The stimulus quote for the competition and the teacher support package will be published on 23 March.

CSNSW School Safety Forum/Behaviour Symposium – Monday 4 & Tuesday 5 May 2026 (Ref: 40/26)

The CSNSW School Safety Forum to be held on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 May 2026, and will cover the topics of bullying, antisemitism/social cohesion and school security. The Forum is aimed at Diocesan Directors, System leaders, Wellbeing Leaders, Heads of Counselling, Safeguarding leads and Principals. The Forum will feature Professor Donna Cross and other keynote speakers, Diocesan and school case studies, panel discussions, table talk with ample time for Q & A.

The Behaviour Symposium will address a range of topics including wellbeing, anti-bullying, student behaviour, diverse learning and school safety. The program will feature distinguished keynote speakers and four workshop streams (CRRE, CVE, Diverse Learning and Mental Health). The Behaviour Symposium is designed for a broad audience covering School and Diocesan leadership, diverse learning specialist, wellbeing staff, counsellors, pastoral support staff and Principals.

Professional Learning

Exploring the NSW Anti-Bullying Framework Webinar with Professor Donna Cross (Ref: 46/26)

Schools are invited to promote an upcoming professional learning webinar, Exploring the NSW Anti‑Bullying Framework, which will be delivered by Professor Donna Cross OAM for Diocesan leaders, Heads of Counselling, wellbeing leads, school leaders, pastoral care leads, and teachers.

The development of the NSW Anti-Bullying Framework was led by Professor Donna Cross. Professor Cross worked in collaboration with each school sector in NSW and conducted a sweeping review of global, national and NSW evidence and targeted consultation with NSW schools and families. 

The Framework sets out a consistent, evidence-based approach to reducing harm from bullying that NESA will require all NSW schools to reflect in their policies and procedures by the beginning of 2027.

Save the Date: CSNSW Education Law Symposium 2026 (Ref: 41/26)

Catholic Schools NSW has announced the details of the 2026 Education Law Symposium as Monday, 6 July 2026, at the Hilton Hotel Sydney. The Symposium brings together leaders involved in the governance and management of Catholic schools for an in‑person forum focused on contemporary regulatory and governance challenges. The theme for the 2026 symposium is 'Stewardship & Service', reflecting the sector’s commitment to responsible governance, mission‑aligned leadership, and service‑oriented decision‑making.

Save the Date: 2027 Catholic Schools NSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Conference – 19 & 20 October 2027 (Ref: 30/26)

Save the date! Catholic Schools NSW (CSNSW) with the Diocese of Broken Bay, will be co-hosting the CSNSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Conference on 19 and 20 October 2027. The conference is set to be held at the beautiful Manly Pacific on the shores of the Pacific Ocean on the traditional homeland of the Gayemagal people of the greater Eora Nation.

Registrations open: 2026 CSSA Symposium – Differentiating the K-12 Curriculum: Personalising Learning for Student Achievement (Ref: 8/26)

Registrations are now open for the 2026 CSSA Symposium on Monday, 23 March 2026. This year's symposium will showcase differentiation of the current curriculum, future syllabuses and innovative examples in Catholic schools. The personalisation of curriculum is at heart of student success in our schools.

Student Resources 

NSW School Vaccination Program (Ref: 44/26) 

NSW Health works with schools to offer free vaccines to students. Local Public Health Units (PHUs) will contact schools to arrange dates for school vaccination clinics. They will also distribute printed student flyers and parent flyers for all students enrolled in Year 7 and Year 10. Printed consent forms will be distributed by the PHUs following discussions with individual schools.

Please note: to avoid confusion, ensure parents understand that consent must be provided via the NSW Health School Vaccination Program online consent portal.

CSSA HSC Trial Exam Ordering (Ref: 27/26) 

Ordering for the CSSA HSC Trial Exams has opened! Principals should have received information about the CSSA HSC Trial Exams via Australia Post and the Principal Information Package was emailed on Friday 6 February.

Scholarships and Awards

Now Open: Applications for the NSW Premier’s Teacher Scholarships (Ref: 47/26)

Successful applicants will receive $15,000 to complete a 5-week study tour within Australia or abroad. Participants will have the opportunity to visit the most acclaimed schools and centres for teaching and training and collaborate with professionals in a key focus area to inspire positive outcomes for students in NSW schools.

If you are a current temporary or permanent teacher or in an early childhood centre in a Catholic school in NSW, you may be eligible to apply.
