Get ready to teach Geography 7–10 Syllabus (2024) IN 2027

The new Geography 7–10 syllabus offers a range of resources designed to assist teachers in preparing for the implementation of the new syllabus.

The Geography Professional Learning course and the 7–12 Overview Professional Learning course give an overview of the syllabus, its intent, the evidence base, and the focus on explicit knowledge and skills.

HSC English Annotations

The HSC English Annotations of selected texts 2027–2030 has been published.

The annotations have been developed for texts that are prescribed for the first time in 2027–2030. The annotations can assist teachers with choosing texts and include suggestions for teaching and learning.

The annotations can be accessed in the ‘Teaching and learning support’ tab under each English 1112 syllabus, and in the Related files section beneath relevant focus areas.

WriteOn Competition 2026

There are four weeks left to submit your students' entries for WriteOn 2026 before the competition closes on Friday 19 June.

This year, students from Years 1–6 use the stimulus quote “It was a small thing, but it made a difference” to create an imaginative text of up to 500 words.

Teaching and learning materials, aligned to the English K–10 Syllabus, are also available to support implementation across classrooms.

Winners will be celebrated at a prestigious event and published in The Best of WriteOn 2026 anthology.

Your Full Programme is Now Available: 2026 K–12 Curriculum Reform Conference (Ref: 102/26)

We are excited to announce your full programme for the 2026 K–12 Curriculum Reform Conference: Learning with Grace – Expert practiceat the heart, to be live streamed into your schools on Monday, 20 July.

This year’s 2026 K–12 Curriculum Reform Conference programme features more than 20 leading voices in education. The sessions provide contemporary and thought-provoking opportunities for professional learning and conversation. 

With keynotes, breakout sessions and communities of practice designed to support schools in their great works, inspire action and challenge thinking. As always, this is a conference not to be missed.

Catholic Secondary Principals Australia (CaSPA) National Conference 2026 (Ref: 94/26)

Catholic School Principals Association of New South Wales will be hosting the Catholic Secondary Principals Australia (CaSPA) National Conference from Tuesday 7 to Friday 10 July, at the Hyatt Regency, Sydney. 

With the theme Inspiring Leadership: Celebrating Faith, Learning and Wellbeing, this conference offers the opportunity to reflect, connect, and collaborate with other leaders in Catholic education. Attendees are invited to engage in thought-provoking discussions, and explore ways to continue to inspire purpose, critical thinking, and hope in future generations of students.

Keynotes include Professor Br David Hall fms, Dallas McInerney, Daniella Falecki, Danielle Cronin, Dr Neil Carrington, Dr John Lee.

Secondary Principals, Primary Principals, School Leadership teams and System Leaders, are welcome to attend. 

Date: 7-10 July 2026.

Student Resources 

STEM MAD Student Workshop Sessions (Ref: 105/26)

Join leading STEM educator Dr Simon Crook, Director of CrookED Science, for one of these free half-day student workshops

With a proven record of success of finalists and winners in the Catholic Network Australia (CNA) STEM MAD competition, Simon will address student questions about their projects. 

The listed workshops are designed to be Q&A workshops to help support students completing their STEM MAD projects. Students and their STEM teachers will be able to ask Dr Crook questions that may benefit all participants.

These Q&A workshops and will be held on: 

  • Thursday, 11 June (9.00am – 12.00pm) 
    This session is aimed at schools new to STEM MAD
  • Thursday, 25 June (9.00am – 12.00pm)
  • Thursday, 10 September (9.00am – 12.00pm)
