NESA Employer Notifications and Reporting of Misconduct – Updated Resources (Ref: 106/26)

NESA has reviewed and strengthened its resources to better support employers in notifying and reporting employee misconduct. NESA has published the updated NESA Employer Notifications and Reporting of Misconduct Factsheet, and NESA Employer Notification Form – Misconduct on its website.

These improvements enhance the resources, making them clear, practical and better aligned to support employers and sector stakeholders in meeting their obligations under the Teacher Accreditation Act 2004.

These resources play an important role in enabling NESA to assess and manage misconduct matters, supporting our shared commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children and students across NSW.

Office of the Children’s Guardian – New Foundational eLearning Module Available: How to be Child Safe (Ref: 110/26)

The Office of the Children’s Guardian (OCG) has launched a new Foundational eLearning Module: How to be Child Safe for child safe organisations.

This module is the first step in the revised eLearning program, set to launch in late 2026, and is designed for anyone who works with or around children including staff, volunteers, leaders, and board members.

This module can be completed by people who have already completed the OCG's existing child safe eLearning, as the new module aligns with updated legislation for the NSW Child Safe Scheme and the Child Safe Standards and does not replace the current suite of eLearning. It's a great opportunity to refresh your understanding of child safe best practice.

The self‑paced module is practical, accessible and supports a shared understanding of child safe responsibilities. This module can be completed in under an hour and showcases a contemporary user experience.

To access the module, click here.

The OCG encourages schools and systems to promote this module within their organisation and consider embedding it into onboarding and training practices.
