Legal and Policy
Not for Profit webpages have moved to NESA (Ref: 258/25)
From Tuesday 4 November 2025, all not for profit content will no longer be available on the Department of Education (DoE) website. Information about not for profit requirements will now be located on the NESA website at nsw.gov.au/NESA.
This change arises due to the transfer of responsibilities for the not of profit provisions of the Education Act 1990 (NSW) from DoE to NESA.
You can find helpful resources about the not for profit obligations of non-government schools, the role of NESA and the advisory committee and proposed changes to the not for profit regulation here: Non-government school not for profit funding regulation | NSW Government
